You’re now outside the former home of Nellie Gray who was the granddaughter of William Hodge, one of the early gold miners at Linton Diggings in 1856. Nellie (pictured above) was noted for her singing voice and was reputed to have been a pupil of Dame Nellie Melba. Although born and educated in Ballarat, she was involved with Linton throughout her life, and often sang at events in Linton and came to live here in her retirement.
