The memorial here, erected in August 2000, commemorates the five fire fighters killed in the bushfire six kilometres north of Linton on 2 December 1998. The memorial is designed to represent an eternal stone flame.

Proceed on the Glenelg Highway and turn left at the corner of Snake Valley Road and Glenelg Highway. Drive about 2km north to Linton Cemetery. As you approach the cemetery gates, you pass on the left-hand side a small memorial cairn.
