70 Snake Valley Road - site of Gorman's Cottage

As you drive along the Snake Valley Road, you will see a modern house close to the road which replaced a miner’s cottage that was originally lived in by Timothy Gorman, the Linton gravedigger, and his family. His daughter Maggie, born in 1904, was the last member of the Gorman family to live here. She lived here happily with no electricity or running water until her death in 1997. The house was subsequently renovated but unfortunately burnt down in 2014.

Proceed south on the Snake Valley Road, and turn right at the Glenelg Highway. Drive through Linton and turn left at the Linton-Naringhil Road which is immediately after the bridge. Proceed to just south of Falkner Street.
