Henry O’Beirne moved a house and office from Ballarat in 1872 and established the O’Beirne Wool and Skin business here. On his death in 1896 two of his sons, John and Frank, carried on the business, trading under the name of J & F O’Beirne.
On this site Frank and his wife Annie had their home built in 1907 and this house remains here. The business closed in 1977 after 105 years of trading.
