The original weatherboard Wesleyan Methodist church on this site was moved here from Sussex Street in 1860 (see Walk No 1). A second weatherboard church replaced it in 1861 and this new brick church was opened in 1913. It closed in 1977 (after the Uniting Church was formed from the Methodists’ amalgamation with a portion of the Presbyterians and the Congregationalists), and was converted into a private residence in the 1980s. This building is now a private home.
