Das Hotel Waldfrieden wurde ursprünglich von einem Kapitän gebaut, der schon 1915 oder 1916 in einem Orkan vor Bornholm untergegangen ist.
Die Villa Fernsicht ist wohl eines der meistfotografierten Gebäude auf Rügen und wurde sehr früh und aufwendig renoviert.
