Vila do Bispo

Der Ort Vila do Bispo wirkt zunächst eher unscheinbar. Sehenswert ist vor allem die Dorfkirche aus dem 18. Jahrhundert, deren Altarraum durch reichhaltige „azulejos“ überrascht, jene für die Algarve so typischen blau-weißen Kacheln, die mit Motiven des Meeres bemalt sind. Das ist ausgesprochen schön. Das Spektakuläre an Vila do Bispo aber ist seine Lage.
