Hello. How come you’re here? Oh, you want to know what you can experience here? I know this place well. I’d be happy to guide you a bit through Klosterstraße. We’re right in the middle of Lilienthal, and there’s so much to discover and many things to do here!
You might not believe it, but 800 years ago, this area was just swamp and wasteland. Back then, the landowner from Bremen brought Dutch settlers here. They were sent to cultivate the land. They dug ditches to drain the water towards the Weser and other rivers. With drier soil, cattle could graze, and huts could be built. This allowed people to settle here and populate the land.
Let’s walk a bit further down the street. The next stop is at a red brick house.
