At Kerner Platz, you’ll find the Ministry of Food, Rural Areas, and Consumer Protection (MLR). This ministry is responsible for all matters related to rural areas, consumer protection, nutrition, food safety, forestry, animal welfare and health, and agriculture.
The MLR aims to raise awareness among consumers in Baden-Württemberg about sustainable and healthy eating with (organic) regional products. Key focus areas include promoting regional food, reducing meat consumption, and avoiding food waste.
At the local Regiomat, participants can purchase regional products.
This stop also invites visitors to take part in a “good deed” as a “climate action” by watering trees and plants in the area. Numerous watering cans are available at the Kerner Fountain for this purpose.
