On the evening of 31 July, a group of approximately 40 demonstrators gathered outside a Holiday Inn in Manchester, which was purportedly housing asylum seekers. Chants were heard of the group exclaiming “we want our country back”, a phrase associated with far-right groups in the UK. Two people were arrested.
